The ebay gift certificate is only for paying for items purchased and can not be used for seller fees. ANY IDEAS????

The first few items I sold were gifts from out-of-state relatives that were of zero use to my family. This was like getting free money, and the rewards were much quicker than donating the stuff to charity and filing later for a tax deduction.

My most recent auction was experimental: one-time permanent logo/link placement in my blog. Aside from perhaps resizing an image and one simple little line of HTML, it's perhaps the easiest money one could make. Nothing to box and lug off to be shipped, no fuss, no muss.

I'm getting ready to start selling some nice handmade items like sterling silver earrings, hand knit/crocheted specialty accessories, and maybe some small, fairly inexpensive consumer goods that are often hard to find in certain areas of the U.S.

So, who else here sells on eBay? What do you sell? Had any weird or cool selling/buying transactions?

There's this thing I really want. I've heard Sniper programs are the way to go, but seeing as how I'm not a lifetime habitual ebayer (only a temporary compulsive one), I am wondering what a good option is, since I know absolutely nothing about sniper programs!

hello tribers
this is a personally hand-typed request for your help
not an automated advertisement looking to generalize...

The Art Exchange: what do you need? what do you want to get rid of? Or are you just looking for some extra cash, some inspiration, or bargain gratification? You don't need to be an "artist" to enjoy this space, it is more on the level of an indoor flea market that has whatever you need and may also have a movie playing on a giant projector screen, or a buffet of tainted goodies.
We are trying to encourage people to re-evaluate their garbage. Most of us at the Art and Found warehouse are dumpster divers and see how much people waste every day. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of paying for things that I only use once, or paying a tax on something that is already overly priced.

WHAT IF... We didn't need money for anything but food and rent? What if all the things you want to buy along the way, you can get by trading something you are about to throw to the curb? Imagine if this idea took off, and eventually you could barter a deal with your landlord and get out of paying rent. Think of the people you would be connected with, the events you would hear about along the way, and the elimination of stress over being poor.

I work for a mail order/catalog company. We already have a well established business practice and system for taking orders online (at our website) and shipping products. We've done it for 50 years. We have great customer service. We want to sell all of our products at their regular prices under the "Buy it now" option. No auctions.

My bosses want me to put some of our inventory on E-bay. For the last week I've been researching. They want to know all the ins and outs of selling on E-bay before we start.

My question is, from a business perspective, what will be so drastically different between selling on our website and selling on E-bay? We'll just take the order from E-bay, credit card/SKU/shipping info, and enter it into our order system. From there everything will be the same as if they ordered from our website, except we'll put a card in the box thanking them for buying from us and leave positive feedback for the user.

Aside from the work that it will take to list all of our products and enter the orders into our order system, what other differences will there be?

I have never paid more than 30 bucks for anything of hers on Ebay. Usually the average is 10 bucks a dress or outfit - love it !

But I also buy alot of items from QVC sellers - I can get 100 outfits for 10 bucks - brand new and with tags. I think QVC has a return policy where they can't sell something that has been returned so it all gets dumped into warehouses - I LOVE their Dialogue line of clothing. 100 on up and I get most of it for less than 20 -

Hey there, I have a problem. I ordered an X-Men clock for my son. It has not came. I paid through paypal something like June 11th. On the 13th, I remember she had offered several color choices. So I email seller right away. Letting her know I had didn't think she had shipped it yet...her page says she normally ships every 5-7 days, but if she had great I'd take whatever color was sent.

Seller emailed me back, saying SHE had emailed me asking about the color choice. I never got that email. But that I was correct and the clock had not been sent yet. So she would send my first color choice.

Well no clock. I then emailed her either the end of June or start of July to explain still no clock. Seller said she DID send it but had others so she would re-send right away.

Mid July (day after my anniversary, that's why I remember) saying the clock had not yet arrived and wanted to know how she was going to handle the situation. Also as a side note, I had bought several other things after the clock and all but 2 things have arrived, as both other sellers had out of town deaths or ailling parents...I am totally understanding! One emailed me back yesterday and said she had just sent it out. The other will not be back until next Friday. So it's not like I am not understanding that things happen.

I had even bought some books ended up in the hospital, and then my father in law died. I didn't pay for the books, the seller was soooo wonderful and I still was not able to pay for books. She left neg feedback. When I left her feedback I left positive saying it was 100% my fault that the fb seller left for me was totally justified.

So my problem. The person I bought the clock from is doing for a web site for chronicly ill people. Even though I don't believe she herself is sick, all the profits go to the man who runs the site. (fibrohugs). I just filed a complaint with paypal. My problem is two fold. One she still has not replied to paypal. And 2 I don't really want to leave neg feedback when the money goes for such an awesome site! Btw... I have ordered from her before and DID get my items.

So what should I do from here? Wait for paypal to contact me...it's only been a bit less than a week. Do I leave neg feedback? Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks!!
Cath

sold out to an Akron infomercial guru, Paul Monea, in 1999,
The shipping was via priority, so I anticipated them within a week or two of payment. Well a month goes by, no boots. I email the seller twice in two weeks, no response. I then file a claim with paypal, they never got a response from the seller and refunded my money.

Then the boots appear! They were shipped on 4/14 - AFTER paypal had refunded my money, 6 weeks after auction's close?! So now what do I do?

I feel kinda weird getting basically free boots, but he did mess up and hasn't contacted me asking for re-payment or anything. They're also missing part of the tongue which means they can't be worn at the higher length - which would have ticked me off if I had paid for them.

I had already left negative feedback for him prior to getting the boots too :-/ uggg....

Should I email the seller thanking him or asking about payment or just let it go?

MIAMI (Reuters) - Wade Jones of North Carolina says he snared a plastic cup from which Elvis Presley drank at a concert in 1977 and kept the cup and the water for 27 years before selling the remaining few tablespoons of water on eBay.

The winning bid for the water was $455. He says he won't sell the cup.

A 40-year-old resident of Belmont, North Carolina, Jones said he was 13 when he attended a Presley concert at the Charlotte Coliseum in February, 1977, six months before the death of the rock 'n roll icon.

After the concert, Jones went to the stage looking for a souvenir. A policeman gave him the plastic foam cup, from which he had seen Elvis drinking earlier, he said.

Jones said he kept the cup and water in his freezer until 1985, when he transferred the water to a vial and sealed it. Over the years, he said, he acquired a photograph of Elvis holding the cup at that concert as authentication for his claim.

"I promise this thing is 100 percent legitimate," Jones said.

It was the $28,000 eBay sale of a 10-year-old grilled cheese sandwich in which some people saw the image of the Virgin Mary that persuaded him to auction off his Elvis water.

"I've been selling on eBay since 2000. People said you ought to sell that Elvis cup," Jones said. "When I heard the recent news ... about the grilled cheese sandwich, I kind of thought about it.

"I didn't get $28,000, it's true," he said of the winning bid on the 3-4 tablespoons of water. "But I'm happy."

Jones said he got a lot of e-mails asking how much he wanted for the cup. He's not going to sell but is offering to allow the highest bidder to "exhibit" it for a short time. Minimum bid is $300.

"It's something I've had since I was 13 and I'm just not going to get rid of it," he said.

I would like to ask you to write a letter after you've received the cane (and the ghost) to my son letting him know that he's there with you and you're getting along great. It is my hope that this will put an end to his restless nights. Thank you all for your help and heartfelt interest.

Sandwich resembling Virgin Mary a no sale

MIAMI, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- A Florida woman says she was
offered $22,000 for a 10-year-old grilled cheese sandwich
with an image of the Virgin Mary on it, before eBay
canceled the deal. Diana Duyser of Hollywood, Fla.,
received an e-mail from eBay saying the sandwich offering
violated the firm's policy barring listings "that are
intended as jokes." Duyser told the Miami Herald it was
not a joke and she takes the matter very seriously. She
said she made the sandwich 10 years ago and, as she took
her first bite, saw the Virgin Mary staring at her from the
lightly toasted bread. She said she put the partially eaten
sandwich into a clear plastic box with cotton balls to
absorb moisture and there was never a sign of mold. Duyser
offered the sandwich for sale on eBay last week. Bids
started at $9.99 and quickly soared to $22,000 before the
ad was removed. "I never imagined it would get that high,"
she said. But eBay officials, after being assured the offer
was a serious one, reinstated the listing. The Herald said
the Web site page had been viewed nearly 100,000 times
before it was removed.

It was expensive bedding, and it's in GREAT condition. I was thinking maybe a second catagory, but not sure what. I paid over 200 dollars for the quilt and bumper. I started the opening bid at 9.99 with no reserve.
